At the Hendersonville Chamber, helping our members get what they need to be successful is our first priority. That means going to bat for you at the local, state and Federal level. What results have we achieved?
· The Chamber played a major role in defeating a proposal to roll garbage collection rates into annual property taxes, which would have resulted in a major tax increase for local businesses without providing any services.
· The Chamber helped craft a compromise between city government and businesses on West Main Street regarding the appearance of this busy commercial area. A compromise was reached to beautify West Main without damaging the businesses involved.
· A local company was unable to get approval to build a new building and was considering locating its business elsewhere. The Chamber mediated the dispute and helped the company get the approval it needed to build its headquarters in Hendersonville.
· The Chamber’s strategic plan resulted in the creation of Forward Sumner Economic Council
· The Chamber actively supported the approval of the development of Glenbrook at meetings of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
